Education and credentials.

Nick Reed is a local Austinite. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin before enrolling at St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida.

While in Law School, Nick was not only consistently in the top 15% of his class, but was also active in Moot Court, Law Review, and was a teaching assistant to first year law students. Nick also earned an MBA while in Law School and graduated Cum Laude with a JD/MBA.

Background and expertise.

Nick then moved to Daytona Beach, where he gained bar admission to the Middle District of Florida, and met Michael Ely at Hassell, Moorhead & Carroll. There, Nick defended clients who were alleged to be liable for injuries or damages caused by an automobile accident, poorly maintained or exceptionally dangerous property, and aviation & boating accidents.

Nick returned to Austin and has represented personal injury victims, counseled employers and employees in employment disputes, worked with landlords and tenants in property matters, and has helped victims taken advantage of by their trusted professional advisors.

Since 2020, Nick has become a recognized mediator for civil cases including claims for personal injury, construction matters, and various business disputes. Pre-COVID, Nick thought that he was about to revolutionize mediation practice by conducting all mediations remotely via video conferencing. Despite the rest of the world being forced to mediate via video conference, Nick was excited to introduce new technology to the industry to save time and money for the parties in an effort to help more cases resolve without the need for a trial. In addition, Nick is a licensed Commercial Pilot with over 1,000 flight hours including international jet experience. This experience gives Nick a uniquely qualified perspective in analyzing and litigating aviation related matters including accidents, maintenance disputes, and owner or pilot issues.
